We proudly presents two new members to Metsis' hall of fame: Manager Selmo's Sm Flash and Manager jeze43's FC kissanpennut.
The both managers have gained the respect of the Hattrick community by their positive and jovial attitude. During the seasons 24-25 they have earned a special place in Pallo-Peikot fans' hearts.
FC Metsänkulma's off-season party will be arranged next Saturday on O'Connell's. Be there or be square !
In the end of the season 25 all fanatic Pallo-Peikot fans have to give farewells to 5th division for a while.
This season we met manager Jani-Hur after relegation match at the backlands of Metsänkulma mansion where he was managing lumberwork.
"The outcome of the season is somewhere between catastrophic and disasterous. We collected only 13 points and ended up to position 6 saved from relegation only by better goal difference. We invested much to the defence, but still other teams scored 20 goals against us. That's two more than previous season ! In overall our attack was very comparable to the other teams' ratings but we were liked cursed. When we eliminated opponent's attack then we didn't have any scoring opportunities. When we had more scoring opportunities then opponent didn't miss a chance. Or the opponent just scored from penalties. And so on.
In the beginning of the season I though the tide will turn on second half but it turned out to be even worse.
The very unfortunate conclusion is that our formidable defence and world-class counterattack was not enough to compensate the drawback of losing midfield. This is something we have to look forward, but currently our hands are very much tied because of the player contracts. If we sell some players before their contracts end we'll be subject to some significigant penalties we can't afford.
However I'm not blaiming the players nor our coach Leif Olsson here. Clearly all our players have been playing according to the expectations and they have showed a great figting spirit. Also Leif has made some very clever moves during the season and I feel he has got 110% out of the team. It's just pitty they had so many sad moments this season.
Then on the other hand we have had a great fans that have been loyal and patient in the troubles. I hope from my heart that next season they'll have more reasons to chant the victory song.
I'm also pleased in our actions in the transfer market. It's a pity that Päivö Anttalainen (21919653) decided to leave the team, but I understand his situation. It was evident we had to renew the defence line to make more room to younger defenders and Päivö couldn't have the role in our central defence anymore even he progressed very well also (from passable to excellent). I wish him luck in his new position in zäpflekicker (519344) Germany.
Potatoheads BK and Sm Flash dominated the season as expected. In fact it was not sure in the begining of the season how well Sm Flah will do, but it's not a suprise that they were runner-up. Potatoheads won 13 league games and the only draw was with Sm Flash. Sm Flash was as clearly the runner-up with only 2 losses and 3 draws. The season has been very successful for both team.
FC kissanpennut managed the very expected position three, but at least I expected much more from them. Now they couldn't challenge Sm Flash at all and only barely could keep Wild Whippers behind them.
I agree with other managers that Wild Whippers has been the most positive suprise this season. My congratulations to pegax who caused a lot of headache for many of more seasoned managers. However I think the most critical success factor for Whippers has been the very poor performance of a quite few other teams.
Team_Hannus suffered a lot because of their narrow material. The team played a quite boring football and the organisation doesn't have a clear goal. Manager Hannusteam can't avoid relegation any more.
Even U-Street All Stars relegated I think they had a fair good season when you consider they have only one reinforcement – Tomasz Dziura (21420443). The home town boys have shown that they can play this game !
For some reason(s) STHLM Södra gave up this season. According the press release STHLM Södra organisation was focusing on other leagues than Hattrick. In Hattrick Södra's master plan seems to be relegate to lower divisions, boost up the team there and come back to the 5th. We'll see ...
Pallo-Peikot has been invited to play in Yomi Winter Challenge 2005 by old Yomi colleague grobbendonkki. Peikot will be pleased to crush all those old workmates.
You can follow the Peikot outcome from our statistics.
The new season has again introduced several issues on a game rule side that might have an effect also to the outcome of this group. The rules are the same for everyone, but let's hope the referees will adapt them soon without too much variation in the interpretation.
The qualification was very good for V.240 teams. Myllypuron Pauhu qualified to 4th division and both STHLM Södra and Sm Flash saved they position by defeating the rivals in qualification match.
This season the teams are clearly in three classes. The one and only first class team Potatoheads BK will dominate the season without problems.
Behind Potatoheads there will be a fierce battle in seats 2-6 in second class between FC kissanpennut, Team_Hannus, STHLM Södra, Sm Flash and Metsänkulman Pallo-Peikot. Here the margins will be small and the order of the teams might be very much affected by the success of the managers in the transfer market and how the teams' training programs turns out.
The third class has two weak teams that will relegate at the end of the season: Wild Whippers and U-Street All Stars.
